Ian Davidson SC

Ian has practised continuously from Eight Selborne Chambers since he was called to the NSW Bar. A Senior Counsel since 2009, he now has a broad practice, though primarily in Commercial, Equity, Administrative, Wills & Probate and Alternative Dispute Resolution (including as an accredited Mediator and Arbitrator and was a former chair of the Bar’s ADR Committee). After graduating from ANU (B Ec and LLB: 1st class Honours and University Medal), Ian was Associate to Sir Anthony Mason from 1980 to 1981 and awarded the R.G Menzies Scholarship to Harvard Law School (LLM 1982). He then worked with law firms in Boston and Washington DC, being admitted to the New York Bar, and then practised as a solicitor in Sydney, primarily in banking and finance matters, before joining Eight Selborne in 1991.
