James Willis

James is a leading commercial junior counsel and university medallist.

James was admitted to practice in 2006 and was subsequently called to the Bar in 2014. Prior to being called to the Bar, James practised as a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Group at Allens Arthur Robinson.

James acts for leading individuals including Ms Hope Rinehart Welker, and recently appeared unled in the dispute between, inter alia, Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd, Wright Prospecting Pty Ltd and DFD Rhodes Pty Ltd.

Both as a barrister and a solicitor, James has gained extensive experience in the conduct of complex commercial litigation in a wide range of industries and involving diverse areas of law. In those matters, he has acted for major Australian and international corporate clients as well as smaller corporations and individuals. James also has extensive experience in relation to employment disputes and restraint of trade litigation.

James appears both at first instance and on appeal and appears both led and unled.
