Benjamin Goodyear

Benjamin specialises in cases involving:

  • commercial and contractual disputes;
  • corporations law including shareholder oppression;
  • equity;
  • insolvency and personal bankruptcy;
  • misleading or deceptive conduct;
  • questions of statutory interpretation;
  • real property disputes;
  • succession; and
  • torts.

He has particular experience dealing with messy and bitter disputes involving family members or business partners who, for whatever reason, have had a falling out.

In terms of qualifications, Benjamin holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Theoretical Physics; a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment; a Graduate Diploma in Property; a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice (in which he won nine subject prizes and a University Medal); and a Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Oxford. Prior to joining the Bar, Benjamin was an Associate to the Honourable Justice Lander of the Federal Court of Australia, and a Senior Associate at King & Wood Mallesons.
